Why We Built This Site

There is no public California name search that returns a complete statewide criminal history. The Marin County Sheriff maintains booking information, Marin Superior Court maintains filed cases and their outcomes, and the California Department of Justice uses fingerprints for a person's review of their own statewide RAP sheet. Custody and sex-offender information are handled through still other state systems. We bring the verified request instructions, official destinations, fees, and contact information together so a reader can identify the office responsible for a particular record.
